For the Community
Towcester Parklands will deliver social infrastructure and day to day amenities necessary for the community to thrive.
Towcester Parklands is a vision for a thriving, sustainable community featuring important social facilities such as secondary and primary schools and a medical centre. It will also serve as an inviting place to enjoy the racecourse’s historic environment, to stop for a coffee or spend time connecting with friends and family outdoors.
A Place Where Community Thrives
Towcester Parklands will be a new sustainable neighbourhood in the region of 2,800 high-quality homes, including affordable housing and specialised housing for the elderly, a new local centre and community facilities. Integrated with a 158-acre public park and other landscaped spaces, these elements will combine to create a distinctive neighbourhood designed to create a strong sense of place and to nurture community spirit.
Supporting Future Generations
Central to the development are new secondary and primary schools, and a dedicated community centre which will serve as places where future generations can learn, grow, and realise their potential. These facilities will support education at every stage while also offering flexible spaces for activities, events, and lifelong learning. The innovation and high-tech workspace will be designed to attract forward-looking industries and help to bring the jobs of the future to Towcester.
Growing Local Businesses
Residents, workers, and visitors to Towcester Parklands will strengthen the local economy and existing supply chains will benefit from increased demand. Local entrepreneurs and small businesses will be able to benefit from the proposed artisan business spaces which we propose to create in the former stables which will offer affordable space to support their growth.
Celebrating Towcester’s Heritage
Towcester Parklands will honour the racecourse’s historic context and the natural environment through sensitive design that complements natural landscapes and built heritage such as the Chain Gate and Lodges Gateway to the racecourse land. Restoring 158 acres of land to public parkland will allow the community to rediscover this historic landscape and enjoy it freely for leisure and wellbeing.
Supporting an Active and Healthy Lifestyle
An active lifestyle will be part of everyday life with a well-connected network of safe, attractive routes for walking and cycling. Substantial open green spaces and areas for play and outdoor activity will offer opportunities for people of all ages to be stay healthy and enjoy the landscape.
